چکیده

Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) can be induced by excessive alcohol consumption, and has a worldwide age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) of approximately 5.243%. Inonotus hispidus (Bull.) P. Karst. (IH) is mushroom with pharmacological effects. In ALD mice, the hepatoprotective effects IH were investigated. strongly ameliorated alcohol-induced pathological changes in liver, including structures its function-related indices. Intestinal microbiota serum metabolomics analysis showed that altered associated anti-inflammatory metabolites. According to results obtained from Western blot, immunohistochemistry (IHC), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), downregulated levels pro-inflammation factors interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), enhanced expressions peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) 15-hydroxprostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-PGDH), inhibited phosphorylated activation Janus kinase (JAK) 1 signal transducer activator transcription (STAT) 3, confirming hepatoprotection against damage via anti-inflammation. This study provides experimental evidence for chronic ALD.

Immunomodulation and liver protection of Yinchenhao decoction against concanavalin A-induced chronic liver injury in mice.

OBJECTIVE This study investigated the immunoregulatory and protective roles of Yinchenhao decoction, a compound of Chinese herbal medicine, in a mouse model of concanavalin A (ConA)-induced chronic liver injury. METHODS Female BalB/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal control, ConA model, ConA model treated with Yinchenhao decoction (400 mg/kg, orally), and ConA model treated wi...

Hepatoprotective Effects of Curcumin Nanomicells in Alcohol-induced Liver Injury: Comparison with Curcumin and Silymarin in Mice Model

Background: Curcumin ameloriates liver damages but its poor absorption, rapid metabolism, and side effects at high doses may limit its clinical applications Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the protective and regenerative effects of Curcumin Nanomicells on alcohol-induced chronic liver injuries in mice. These effects were compared with Curcumin and Silymarin in the same model. Method...

Mechanisms of hypothermic protection against ischemic liver injury in mice.

Hepatic hypothermia can safely prolong the duration of hepatic inflow occlusion during complex liver resectional surgeries. The mechanism(s) by which hypothermia protects against this form of liver ischemia-reperfusion injury are not completely understood. In this study, we sought to determine whether hypothermia protects against ischemia-reperfusion injury by altering the hepatic inflammatory ...

Cardiac metallothionein synthesis in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice, and its protection against diabetes-induced cardiac injury.

Oxidative stress is involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes and its cardiovascular complications. Metallothionein (MT), a stress-response protein, is significantly increased in the liver and kidney of diabetic animals. We examined whether diabetes also induces cardiac MT synthesis through oxidative damage and whether MT overexpression protects the heart from injury. Diabetes was induced in mic...

The protection of meloxicam against chronic aluminium overload-induced liver injury in rats

The present study was designed to observe the protective effect and mechanisms of meloxicam on liver injury caused by chronic aluminium exposure in rats. The histopathology was detected by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The levels of prostaglandin E2, cyclic adenosine monophosphate and inflammatory cytokines were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The expressions of cyclooxygenases-2, ...
